We were particularly fond of the casual dining options throughout the ship. Not to mention, we enjoyed all of the complimentary outdoor activities, various game shows, comedy shows, and pool deck parties. While we are not the biggest fans of the Playlist Productions when compared to other cruise lines, the shows are high energy and feature a cast of talented singers and dancers. Carnival Jubilee has so many places to eat that I ran out of time to try them all on my weeklong sailing. As a sucker for soft-serve ice cream, I was a frequent visitor to the three soft-serve ice cream and frozen yogurt machines on decks 8, 16 and 17. My pick from Guy's is the Chilius Maximus — an 80/20 ground chuck patty with cheese, chili, onion rings and barbecue sauce.

For lunch today, we decided to check Shaq’s Big Chicken off the list. This is one of my go-to spots on Carnival’s Excel Class ships. Though, the lines here and at Guy’s Burgers can get quite long, so plan accordingly.

From here, the fun continued on the lido deck with the 80’s Glow Party. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again–Carnival cruisers go all out for these parties, so be sure to pack your 80’s attire for the event. Maybe we were partial to the music, but we did enjoy this party more than the White Party earlier in the week. After dinner, it was time to enjoy more of the comedy available around the ship.

For those looking for some group competitions, there were several daytime games as well. Competitions like Identity Crisis, Hog Wild, or Fact or Fiction also ran throughout the day, challenging groups to compete for a prized plastic medallion. In the theater, the What’s Age Got to Do With It was a fun spin on a couples match game. Not to mention, the Lido Market offers a wide selection of entrees for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Although, with so many other options, we actually did not dine here at all.

If seasickness is an issue, avoid staterooms on high decks or at the very front or back of the ship. Since Don had some afternoon meetings for work, we headed back onboard around noontime. We continued checking off casual dining spots by grabbing lunch at Coastal Slice and Beach Buns in the new The Shores zone. This zone has a seaside boardwalk vibe, and it’s also the late night snack spot. Now, it was time to check out the Summer Landing zone aft on Deck 8. This zone features the Patio Pool along with a couple whirlpools.
